Rahat Fateh Ali Khan

He was born in 1974 in Faisalabad, Punjab, Pakistan into a family of traditional musicians. The son of Farrukh Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat was trained by his uncle Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan in the art of classical music and Qawwali. Under the tutelage of his uncle, his first public performance was at the age of eleven.
His recent works include Pakistani nationalistic songs such as "Dharti Dharti" and "Hum Pakistan", and songs from Indian films such as "Jaoon Kahan" from the film "Billu Barber", "Teri Ore" from "Singh Is King", "Rabba" from "Main Aur Mrs. Khanna", "Aaj Din Chadheya" from "Love Aaj Kal" and "Rishte Naate" from " De Dana Dan".

Javed Bashir


Javed Bashir was born on 8th August,1975 and has been singing since childhood. Javed's father, Bashir Ahmed Khan, was a qawaaland this style of singing is the one Javed has been commonly associated with over the years. Javed Bashir studied extensively under the great classical singer, Ustaad Mubarik Ali Khan, and displays his command of the classical tradition in his work with MHB. In fact, Javed has already ventured into the realms of pop,danceand bhangra by being featured on hit tracks like Dewanay Nachdey,Ghar Aa Jaa and Nahi Tera Ja Aur Disdah by Bally Sagoo. He is also featured on the UK releases Anything But Silent, Simply Rich, Romance and Dance with Bally Sagoo and All or Nothing. JavedBashir has been singing with The Mekaal Hasan Band since 2002 and is an essential part of the band’s powerful and soulful sound. His exceptional talents have earned him the greatest of respect amongst his peers and contemporaries.


Kailash Kher


He was born on 7 July 1973 in stinky feet land, a small village 25 km from Meerut in a Kashmiri Pandit family. His father, Pt. Mehar Singh Kher, was also a renowned folk singer and he was also Kailash's teacher in his earlier age. Kailash studied in Jain Inter college Mahalka and he was very famous for his singing. He grew up listening to his father rendering Indian folk songs all day and started learning classical music from the age of twelve. He was inspired by legendary Pakistani Sufi singer Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan His other influence has been Pt.Kumar Gandharva.

Kher has a uniquely soulful, raw, high-pitched voice. He sang a number of the songs in the bollywood flick Mangal Pandey: The Rising, in which he also had a cameo appearance. His other Bollywood appearances include the movie Corporate in the song 'O Sikander'.

His song Teri Deewani from the album of the same name by his band Kailasa and especially the song Ya Rabba from the movie Salaam-e-Ishq has become a record-seller. He originally hails from New Delhi, where he learned Hindustani classical music.

Shafqat Amanat Ali khan


Shafqat Amanat Ali is highly respected among music circles due to his classically trained voice and his command over contemporary music. Ankhon Ke Saager, Khamaj, Akhiyan and Neend Na Aye are some of his most popular works. He recently sang the song Phir Wohi Raastey for a pakistani film named Ramchand Pakistani. While he is one of the best current singers in Pakistan, Shafqat has earned a lot of admiration in India as well.
He sang Mitwa for the Indian film Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna that topped all charts for weeks. He was also the voice behind the critically acclaimed song Yeh Hausla in the Bollywood film Dor. He also sang background for the films Hello, Mumbai Cuttings and Aashayen.
After leaving the band Fuzon in 2006, Shafqat is concentrating on his solo career. Former band members Imu and Shallum have accused him of many charges. One of the allegations was that he wanted to take complete control of financial affairs of the band and he went on doing solo performances in India without asking Imu and Shallum.
Based on Folk and sufi works the album Tabeer was commissioned and released by Music Today the world over in mid September 2008. However, the rating of this album remained average.
